A few weeks ago, a wonderful fiber artist, Christiane Seufferlein, announced online that she had received a dowry chest full of hand-processed flax. The woman who had owned it, Berta, had passed, and her son wanted it to go to people who would appreciate her incredible treasure. Since then, a supportive, enthusiastic online community has formed around this dowry flax, which is now arriving in mailboxes all around the world, and other elders have stepped up to offer their flax as well. I recently received my flax, so I created this short (2-minute) video to show off the flax and tell a very brief version of the story. I hope you like it!
