About Me

Hello from beautiful Estonia! I am a PhD candidate at Indiana University Bloomington’s Department of Folklore and Ethnomusicology, and I am on exchange at the Viljandi Culture Academy in Estonia while I do my dissertation research. My project focuses on traditional crafts and native Estonian sheep, and my research process includes hands-on projects and fieldwork with Estonian craftspeople and farmers. I love spinning, knitting, weaving, and other textile crafts, and wool is my passion! I hope that you will enjoy learning about Estonia’s incredible textile heritage, its sheep, and the cultural landscapes that have developed through deep, long-term relationships between people, animals, and environments.
